» An information session for parents of current eighth
graders in Vance County Schools about the application
process to enroll as a ninth grader for the 2015-2016 school
year in the Vance County Early College High School will be
held at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 30, in the Board Room of
the school system’s Administrative Services Center at
1724 Graham Avenue in Henderson.

» Free Breakfast and Lunch for Students
Beginning in the 2014-2015 school year, all students in Vance
County Schools will be able to eat breakfast and lunch for free
each school day.
Students will still need to key in a (new) Meal ID number as they
enter the cafeteria meal line.
Snacks will be available for purchase. Money can still be placed on
The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program provides the free
meals and is a new reimbursement option for public school systems,
available for the first time in all states across the country beginning
with the 2014-2015 school year. It is available as a result of the
federal Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010. Parents and
guardians of students will no longer need to complete the
free/reduced price meal application.
