There are several important important annoucements for the week of November 6, 2017. First, students in grades 3-5 will be taking county benchmarks and NC Check-in benchmarks. Monday, November 6th will be county benchmarks in reading for third grade students. Also on Monday, fifth grade students will be taking a science NC check-in test. Tuesday, November 7th all students in grades 3-5 will be taking a math benchmark test. Thursday November 9th, fourth and fifth grade students will be taking the reading benchmark. Please have students get a good nights sleep and arrive to school on time. Let them show what they know!
Wednesday November 8th will be our Zeb Vance Academic Awards assembly. Grades pre-k to 2 will have their program start at 12:30. Grades 3-5 will start at 1:45. Please come out and celebrate your students' success. They have worked hard and we want them to know how much we appreciate it.
Parent Night will be on Tuesday, November 7th from 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm. At this time, parents can come by to pick up report cards from the classroom teachers. This would be a good opportunity to discuss your child's academic success with the classroom teacher.
Schools are closed on Friday, November 10th to honor our Veteran's.
On Monday, October 2nd, at Zeb Vance Elementary's staff meeting, Mrs. Amber Hines was given the honor of being the STAR teacher of the month. Ms. Mary Landis, the August teacher of the month, spoke highly of Mrs. Hines, her abilities and her ability to become a member of the Zeb Vance Family. Mrs. Hines comes to us from Aycock Elementary School. She is currently a 3rd grade teacher, but also our MCL - multi-classroom leader, for 2nd and 3rd grades. She is a member of the WeInspire 1.0 Coaches cohort. Congratulations.
