The Vance County Board of Education is seeking interest from the community for the District 5 seat on the board. Interested candidates must reside in District 5. Vance County Schools will operate on a four-day work week, July 1 - August 2, following action taken on May 13 by the Vance County Board of Education. During this period, all employees will work 10 hours each day, Mondays through Thursdays. Schools and school system offices will be closed on Fridays.
The Vance County Board of Education approved the school calendars for the 2019-2020 school year during the board's March 11, meeting.
Vance County Schools hosted its fourth annual "Evening of Academic Excellence" to honor the top 10 percent of academic achievers in the graduating classes at Vance County Early College High School, AdVance Academy and Vance County High School during the evening of May 20.
Members of the Vance Robotics Team from Vance County High School attended the Vance County Board of Education meeting on May 13, and received deserved recognition for the team’s first-place finish in a recent robotics competition in Wake County with teams from high schools in the area.
Vance County Schools honored the over 275 school volunteers and business partners who are involved in supporting our 15 public schools for the 2018-2019 school year at the annual Volunteer/Business Partner Recognition Reception held on April 24.
