Vance County Early College High School awarded 33 students with their high school diplomas Friday evening at The Center for Innovation. 29 students also received their Associates of Arts or Science degree from Vance-Granville Community College.
Graduation season is officially underway in Vance County Schools, as Vance County High School awarded 153 students with their high school diplomas Friday, May 26, in the Vance County High School stadium.
The Tailored Assistant Principals’ Symposium Recognition was held on May 23rd at 5:30pm in The Atrium at The Center for Innovation. The dinner celebrates the collective impact projects that the Assistant Principals (APs) have worked on throughout the 2022-2023 school year. APs were split into two teams, each focusing on a different initiative, determined by the team, they selected Parent Engagement and Literacy.
In the state level competition against Davidson and Rowan-Salisbury teams, all of the teams competed in coding challenges. The Dabney Rockets took first place for the elementary coding event and STEM Card Sharks #3, an all girls team, brought home first place in the middle school division for coding.
Today, members of the North Carolina General Assembly took part in the inaugural North Carolina Bring Your Legislator to School Day. Lawmakers were invited by members of the NC Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year Network, the Public School Forum of North Carolina, and bi-partisan legislative sponsors to visit schools in their respective jurisdictions and engage with school communities. In total, over 70 legislators accepted the invitation to participate.
On May 10, Vance County Schools hosted the Student Spotlight Recognition Banquet, where 16 students were acknowledged for their positive attitude, work ethic, leadership and overall character.
