E.O. Young, Jr. Elementary School students had a unique opportunity on October 30, to sample a new biscuit during their lunch period and vote on whether or not they liked it. Based on the students' feedback, the school system will decide if it wants to provide the new biscuit with school meals at all local schools.
Exciting changes are coming to E.O. Young, Jr. Elementary School for the 2018-2019 school year. Principal Marylaura McKoon and her colleagues on the school's design team for the Opportunity Culture initiative are completing plans to implement the innovative program to benefit students and staff members in the school.
Four local educators who are cohorts with the nationwide Opportunity Culture Fellows Program were recognized at the Vance County Board of Education meeting on June 10, 2019.
The Vance County Board of Education recognized the outstanding efforts of eight Student Spotlight award winners who received the honor for their respective schools for the 2018-2019 school year based on their exemplary character and respect and caring for fellow students and educators.
