Ms. Foster is the AIG Coordinator for Vance County and the AIG Specialist who serves k-5th grade students at Dabney Elementary and Henderson Middle School 6-8th.
My name is Michelle Foster, and I am the AIG Coordinator for Vance County Schools and the AIG specialist at Dabney Elementary School. I have been teaching for 22 years, and I have spent 19 of those years at Dabney. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I also have my AIG certification and a National Board Certification. I was born and raised in Vance County and was actually a part of the first graduating class at Southern Vance High School in 1991. I have been married to the greatest man I know for 20 years, and we have two beautiful children whom we adore. I have a very close knit family, and we love spending time together. I most enjoy traveling and making memories with my kids. It is a privilege to be able to teach in the same community where I grew up and to have the opportunity to give back by doing what I love!

Ms. Hollie Powell
Ms. Powell is the AIG Specialist at Aycock Elementary School and New Hope Elementary School, where she serves K-5th grade students.
Mrs. Powell has spent her entire 39 year teaching career with Vance County Schools where she has worked with students at Eaton Johnson Middle, E.O. Young and Aycock Elementary schools. She accepted the AIG position at Aycock Elementary in the fall of 2008 where she feels fortunate to work with the best students, their very supportive parents, and a fantastic administrative team.
She earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree K-12 from Greensboro College and a Master of Education from North Carolina Central University. In addition, she holds licenses in Middle Grades Education Grades 5-8 reading and Social Studies: Elementary Education, Reading and Social Studies: and her Academically Gifted Certification, K-12.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Powell is a lover of all things beautiful including spending time with her husband, their two adult daughters and sons in law; music, art, theatre, nature, china, gardening, cheering for the Duke Blue Devils, architecture, and antiquing. Mrs. Powell believes that education is a life of learning and enjoys trips to the beach and the mountains; experiencing the world through travel, literature, and exploring.

Dr. Lisa Webster, NBCT, Ed.D
Dr. Webster is the AIG Specialist at Eaton Johnson Middle School where she serves 6th-8th grade students.
I was born in Va, and moved to NC in 3rd grade, where I grew up 30 minutes from Nags Head. I got my BS in Elementary Education from Elizabeth City State University. I then moved to Durham, NC where I taught 3rd grade for 3 years. I moved from Durham to Stovall in 2002, where I started teaching a New Hope Elementary in 3rd grade for 3 more years. During which I recieved my M. Ed in Curriculum and Instruction- American Intercontinental University and my AIG certification. I made the move from regular classroom teacher to AIG Specialist in 2006, when I changed to Zeb Vance. My stay here at Zeb Vance, I have received my National Boards Certification and just recently received my Ed. D in Exceptional Children from NorthCentral University. I love using technology with my students. I love seeing their eyes light up in excitement over successes. In my free time, I enjoy reading, crosstitching, spending time with my family and friends, camping, and spoiling my grandbaby Silvia Rae (the cutie in the picture).

Ms. Bonita Williams
Ms. Williams is the AIG specialist at Clarke Elementary and Zeb Vance Elementary. She serves K-5th graders at both schools.My name is Bonita Williams. I am a teacher at Clarke Elementary and Zeb Vance. I have worked for Vance County Schools since 1998. I have been a 4th grade teacher, 2nd grade teacher, computer instructor, curriculum instructor, acting assistant principal, media specialist, intervention specialist, reaching coach, and now an AIG specialist for k through 5th grade.I have two boys and many grandchildren. Hobbies are reading, walking and supporting anyone I can in any way. One interesting tidbit about me, my parents have ten girls and one boy. I am the in the middle. We grew upon a farm and actually lived in a remodeled school house. I love people and I love life. I thank God for having a wonderful school family, church family and a great home family.

Ms. Carolyn Ellis
Ms. Ellis, AIG Specialist at E O Young Elementary, Carver Elementary, and Pinkston Street Elementary, serves K-5th graders.
I am Carolyn Ellis. I was born and raised in Henderson, NC. I attended Lelia B. Yancey Elementary, Henderson Middle, and Vance Senior High. I graduated June 1977 and attended Saint Augustine's College (now University) in Raleigh,N.C. I graduated from Saint Aug. in 1981 with a batchelor's arts degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught at Kittrell Job Corp Center as an academic instructor for 16-21 year olds seeking to earn their Adult High School diploma or GED, for three and a half years. In 1984, I decided to transition into public education and was hired at Pinkston Street elementary as a third grade teacher. During my first eight years at Pinkston, I also was hired at VGCC as an adult basic education teacher for those ages 16-60+ seeking to earn their high school diplomas. At Pinkston I have taught grades 2-6. I am currently the AIG Specialist for New Hope and Pinkston Street Elementaries.
