    The mission of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in Vance County Schools is

    to empower all students to be successful citizens, workers, and leaders in a global economy.

    The vision of Vance County Schools CTE Programs is to create learning opportunities which

    allow students to integrate the academic and technical skills required for successful entry into

    a career, the military and postsecondary education.

    Vance County Schools offers a comprehensive career and technical education program for

    students in middle and high schools. A variety of high school courses are offered in thirteen

    career clusters:

    Agricultural, Food & Natural Resources

    Human Services

    Architecture and Construction

    Information Technology

    Arts, Audio/Visual Technology and Communications

    Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security

    Business Management and Administration



    Health Science

    Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

    Hospitality and Tourism Transportation


    Our high schools offer industry credentials for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and

    Basic First Aid; ServSafe Food Handler; ServSafe Food Manager; Microsoft Specialist in

    Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; Microsoft Specialist in Excel and Access; National Center for

    Construction Education Research (NCCER) for Carpentry and Masonry; Nurse Aide I; Adobe

    Certified Associate; Financial Literacy and the North Carolina Career Readiness Certificate.

    Courses in our middle schools expose students to career options, computer skills and
