We want to share with our families that we have a dismissal update for Friday, December 16, 2022. Elementary schools will dismiss at 12:30pm, secondary schools at 1pm and all offices will close at 3:30pm.

Vance County Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Nealie Whitt III has been named the new principal of Vance County High School. Mr. Whitt III is replacing Mr. Rey Horner, who has been promoted to the Executive Director of Student Services for Vance County Schools.
Today, Vance County Schools honored retired educators, administrators and support staff at the 2022 Retirement Banquet. Retirees were treated to a musical performance by Zeb Vance Elementary School students under the direction of District Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Anita Griffith! The Retirement Banquet was held at the Henderson Country Club. Vance County Schools appreciates the services of all of these wonderful and dedicated employees, and the work that they have done in and for Vance County Schools!
RoboVANCE is a robotics and coding competition open to VCS students in grades K-8. This program is for students who are interested in working as a team to learn about using robots and coding to solve real-world problems! Each school team can have up to 8 students. Only students who are willing to attend the weekly team meetings and be a true team player should apply! APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY 5:00PM ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2022
On Friday, September 16th, North Carolina State Human Resources Director, Barbara Gibson, and North Carolina State Budget Director, Charles Perusse, visited Pinkston St. Elementary School, and read a book to students. They also visited the Center for Innovation. The NC Office of State Budget & Management (OSBM) and the NC Office of Human Resources (OSHR) donated school supplies to our students.
