  • Congratulations to our principal Mrs. Kristen H. Boyd for being selected as the 2017-2018 Vance County Schools Principal of the year. Aycock is so proud to have such a talented and hard-working leader who is always looking out for ways to improve learning for the students and make Aycock Elementary School a successful institution and a staple of excellence. We also want to congratulate our 2017-2018 teacher of the year, Mrs. Kelly Smith. Mrs. Smith is an outstanding educator who makes  Aycock a wonderful place to work and learn!

  • Public Invited to 'State of Our Schools' Events

    All Vance County residents are invited to attend "State of Our Schools" events hosted by the school system on Tuesday, October 24, at Clarke Elementary School, and on Wednesday, October 25, at New Hope Elementary School. Both events will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Superintendent Anthony Jackson will be sharing valuable information about our public schools and all 17 of our schools will have information tables with educators available to answer questions.

  • VCS Seeking Bus Drivers

    Anyone interested in driving a school bus for Vance County Schools is encouraged to contact the district's Transportation Department at 252-438-5012 or to email Dean Thomas, coordinator of Student Transportation Services, by email at dthomas@vcs.k12.nc.us. Those persons who already have a valid driver's license to drive vehicles such as tractor trailer rigs and buses are urged to contact the Transportation Department as soon as possible. For those who want to learn how to drive a bus, the school system is conducting a bus driver training November 6-8, at Northern Vance High School in Room I-103. Call 252-438-5012 for more details.

  • "State of Our Schools" Focuses on School Achievements

    Superintendent Anthony Jackson shared valuable information about the accountability data for Vance County Schools for the 2016-2017 school year and expectations for the current school year with major community stakeholders at the school system's "State of Our Schools" luncheon event on October 17, at the Henderson Country Club.

  • 'We Inspire' Trainings Continue

    Local educators participating in the "We Inspire" initiative for blended learning for Vance County Schools went through two all-day training sessions led by representatives of the Friday Institute at N.C. State University.

  • zSpace Virtual Reality Classroom Visits Vance County

    zSpace, Inc. sponsored a visit by its Virtual Reality Classroom to the campus of Southern Vance High School on September 21, with the lab available for viewing by local students and educators throughout the school system.
