School Closure & Consolidation
Recommendation
Vance County Schools leadership is recommending to the Board of Education that we consolidate New Hope Elementary with Dabney Elementary and Carver Elementary with EO Young Elementary. While this recommendation is driven by declining enrollment and funding challenges, our priority remains creating a stable, high-quality environment where every child can thrive.
Rationale
School closure or consolidation is considered when a facility is underutilized, has high operational costs, or may need replacement due to its age and condition.
