Inclement Weather Communication
When inclement weather is forecasted, district officials closely monitor the forecasts and consult with local emergency officials as needed. Additionally, designated VCS staff members drive throughout the county assessing roads and safe travel.
As soon as the district decides on closures or delays, the community is notified as follows:
1. District Website (www.vcs.k12.nc.us)
2. Official Social Media Account > Official Social Media Accounts
3. District Messaging System with an official message via phone call (email and text if this information is on file)
4. Local radio and news stations
