Innovative Schools: 5 schools, each different by design.

Vance County Schools is home to 5 Innovative Schools, all which require an application to be considered for enrollment. The schools are

  • EM Rollins STEAM Academy (Grades PK-5)
  • STEM Early High School (Grades 6-8)
  • Advance Academy (Grades 6-12)
  • Vance County Early College High School (Grades 9-13)
  • Vance Virtual Village Academy (Grades K-12)

Applications are available at each Innovative School, on our website and at our district office, located at 1724 Graham Avenue. Completed applications must be turned in to the district office before the close of business on February 28, 2023.

The mission of STEM Early High School is to provide a small, personalized learning community

that prepares students with high interests in science, technology, engineering or mathematics

for global success through a challenging, purposeful program of study

Vance Virtual Village Academy is a K-12 online school that provides personalized learning plans, self-paced instruction, and academic flexibility for students in Vance County and the surrounding counties. 

Virtual Village Academy

To educate a diverse student population to further succeed in college, career, and life

through the access of dual enrollment in a relevant, rigorous, and innovative course

of secondary curriculum and a tuition-free college course of study with the expectation of

obtaining an Associate of Arts Degree or Associate of Science Degree.
