Just U & Me Mentoring Program
Just You & Me is a mentoring program that provides our students with additional support to help them do their very best at school. Mentoring is one of the 15 Effective Strategies of the National Dropout Prevention Center to help students make positive choices, stay on track in school and avoid negative behaviors.
The mentors are Vance County Schools upperclassmen that are presently in 3 of our 4 high schools; Vance County High School, Vance County Early College, AdVance Academy, or a former VCS graduate students. Mentors meet with students weekly on Saturday’s from (9:00am till 12:00pm) and do a variety of positive activities together. These activities take place on school grounds during the school year.
