Ms. R began teaching in 2007 after graduating from Columbia College, in Columbia, SC, with a degree in music education. Her first teaching job was at Stovall Shaw Elementary teaching Pk-6 grade music and beginner band. After she left Stovall she moved to Leland, NC where she taught general music and chorus at Lincoln Elementary and worked as the assistant band director at North Brunswick High School.
In 2016, Ms. R moved back to Raleigh to be closer to her family. Since she has began teaching in Vance County, she has taught at STEM, AdVance Academy, and EO Young Elementary; but has loved calling the Tiger Den home since she began. Since 2016 she has enjoyed watching all of the Tigers grow into strong musicians and loves that they are always open to trying new things!
When Ms. R isn’t in the classroom she loves painting, crafting, and playing with her puppy, Reyna.
