Hello, I am Tamekia Thompson.  I proudly teach kindergarten at Aycock Elementary School.  I was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, and attended college at Radford University from which I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.  I also received my Master's degree from Radford University in Special Education.  So, needless to say, I know teaching was my ultimate goal in life.  I moved to North Carolina in 2001 to live my dream of teaching. Presently, I have been teaching for over 15 years.  I met a gentleman at an interview for Vance County Schools, we married in 2012, and we now are parents of a daughter.  Teaching is so rewarding, and I dediate myself to making a BIG difference in the lives of small children.
