Hello! I'm really excited to begin working with students at Vance County Early College. Currently, I teach two sections of English II Honors and one section of English I Honors. I earned my B.A. in English and Religious Studies from the University of Miami, and also have a Ph.D. in English from Duke University, where I studied English Renaissance literature and science. My previous experiences as an instructor have included teaching undergraduate literature, Women's Studies, and freshmen writing courses, as well as teaching in Duke's Talent Identification Program. Additionally, I have worked as a volunteer tutor with Student U, a college-access program in the Durham Public School System. More than anything else, I hope students in my classes develop solid critical-thinking skills, become better global citizens, and learn what they're curious and excited about. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy hiking, quilting, and writing. Please feel free to get in touch with me - I'm here to help.
