Health & Physical Education

Healthy students simply learn better!  The Vance County Schools sees the Health and Physical Education component of a child's education as a critical piece of their learning.  We are advocates of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model in conjunction with NC Healthy Schools Team. The WSCC model is the CDC’s framework for addressing health in schools through a student-centered approach which emphasizes the role of the community, the connections between health and academic achievement and the importance of evidence-based school policies and practices.  The data is clear...see for yourself by clicking on the Did You Know? tab in this section or the full CDC article here

Vance County Schools offers quality health and physical education for all students enrolled in our schools. When students are afforded the opportunity to move, exercise, stretch, and participate in organized play during their day, amazing things happen when it comes to academic performance engaging in appropriate school/classroom behaviors.
