    Vance County Early College High School awarded 33 students with their high school diplomas Friday evening at The Center for Innovation. 29 students also received their Associates of Arts or Science degree from Vance-Granville Community College.

    The Tailored Assistant Principals' Symposium Recognition Ceremony

    The Tailored Assistant Principals’ Symposium Recognition was held on May 23rd at 5:30pm in The Atrium at The Center for Innovation. The dinner celebrates the collective impact projects that the Assistant Principals (APs)  have worked on throughout the 2022-2023 school year. APs were split into two teams, each focusing on a different initiative, determined by the team, they selected  Parent Engagement and Literacy.

    RoboVance Competes at State Competition

    In the state level competition against Davidson and Rowan-Salisbury teams, all of the teams competed in coding challenges. The Dabney Rockets took first place for the elementary coding event and STEM Card Sharks #3, an all girls team, brought home first place in the middle school division for coding.

    Inaugural North Carolina Bring Your Legislator to School Day

    Today, members of the North Carolina General Assembly took part in the inaugural North Carolina Bring Your Legislator to School Day. Lawmakers were invited by members of the NC Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year Network, the Public School Forum of North Carolina, and bi-partisan legislative sponsors to visit schools in their respective jurisdictions and engage with school communities. In total, over 70 legislators accepted the invitation to participate.

    Vance County Schools Announces EO Young Principal

    Vance County Schools is pleased to announce Dr. Jeffrey Batten as the new principal for EO Young Elementary School. Batten earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Trinity University and his Master of Science from Texas A&M University. His educational journey continued as he earned his Doctor of Philosophy from Texas A&M and his Masters in School Administration from North Carolina State University.

    Vance County Schools Recognizes Top Ten Percent Senior Scholars in the Class of 2023

    Vance County Schools recognized the top ten percent of the district's 2023 graduation class at the Evening of Academic Excellence banquet. The Evening of Academic Excellence banquet was held in the Center for Innovation's Atrium on May 4th. Each year, the event honors the top students in each graduating class from Vance County High School, Vance County Early College High School, AdVance Academy and Vance Virtual Village Academy.  In recognition of their academic success, senior scholars were presented with a medallion that will be worn with their graduation attire.
