The Vance County Board of Education members honored in June the custodial staff members from several schools for the high ratings their schools received in the most recent state facility inspections.
Leading all schools in the ratings was L.B. Yancey Elementary School with a 99.2 rating out of a possible 100. L.B. Yancey also was the cumulative ratings winner among local schools for the 2018-2019 school year.
The custodial staff at AdVance Academy was honored for having the top ratings, at 96.8, for all secondary schools.
The custodial staff members at other schools receiving recognition for their high ratings were those at Pinkston Street Elementary, 98.6; New Hope Elementary, 98.5; Aycock Elementary, 96.1; Zeb Vance Elementary, 95.8; Vance County Middle, 95.1; and Carver Elementary; 94.7.
Each of the honorees, shown above with their certificates, was congratulated by board Chairwoman Dorothy Gooche and Superintendent Anthony Jackson.
