The students who are members of the Air Force Junior ROTC at Vance County High School traveled with their instructors in late October to the U.S. Coast Guard station in Elizabeth City.
While visiting the station, the students were able to meet several pilots with the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as view a variety of aircraft housed at the facility.
They posed for photos around several of the aircraft, including a cargo plane and a helicopter. Col. Wayne Lunsford and Sgt. Jeanette Kingsberry accompanied the students on the trip. They all were able to experience the unique opportunity to fly on a large cargo plane as part of the trip.
