Book or Treat for Pre-K!

books

The 320 pre-kindergarten students in our 10 elementary schools visited the district's Administrative Services Center on October 31 to participate in the Book or Treat event.

As the student groups arrived at their scheduled times, staff members in the Administrative Services Center greeted them dressed as their favorite book characters.

Each of the students were given several bags of candy and then made their way to the building's library where they selected a new book to take home and add to their home library.

Most of the books were purchased with funds donated by the Vance County Public School Foundation.

The Book or Treat event was designed to provide the students with a fun field trip on Halloween and to place a focus on the importance of reading. The students really enjoyed being able to pick out their new books.

Book or Treat proved to be a huge success as the children really enjoyed the event. However, the adults may have enjoyed the event even more!
