Vance County High School Kicks off Graduation Season

HENDERSON, NC – Vance County High School welcomed in our graduation season with 125 students receiving their high school diploma. The in-person ceremony took place on Wednesday, May 25th, in the Vance County High School Gymnasium at 9:00am. Students were presented their diplomas by Principal Rey Horner and Superintendent Dr. Cindy Bennett. The ceremony was also live streamed on the VCS website and aired live on WIZS.

There were some truly exceptional students who graduated this year. Karla Cruz Ochoa, representative of the VCHS Class of 2022, left some encouraging words to her fellow classmates.

“[To my fellow classmates] as we get ready to depart this institution, I want to encourage you to continue to place a trail of success. To continue to triumph against all the odds and to relentlessly chase your dreams. Let us never forget that we are the product of Vance County High School. The home of the Vipers!”

VCHS Counselor, Mr. Erich MacLaren also left the class with some advice for the future.

The VCHS Class of 2022 was the first class to begin and complete their high school career after the consolidation of our high schools in 2018.
